Another surgical attack took place on Pakistani soil. This time its by Iran. Freed their country’s soldiers held captive in Pakistan. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) had carried out the operation in Pakistani territory.
The operation took place on Tuesday and it has been revealed that two soldiers held hostage in Pakistan have been released. Members of the Jaish-ul-Adil organization from Pakistan kidnapped the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on October 16, 2018. A total of 12 soldiers were abducted and held captive from the Pak-Iranian border in the provinces of Sistan and Balochistan. Five soldiers were released in November of the same year. On March 21, 2019, the Pakistan Army released four more soldiers.
Iran declared Jaish-ul-Adil a terrorist organization. The organization declared war on the Iranian government. Baloch are fighting for the rights of Sunnis in Iran.
When it became known that the Jaish-ul-Adil organization had captured Iranian soldiers, Iranian and Pakistani military officials set up a joint committee to free them.
It is well known that India has twice carried out attacks on Pakistani soil. The Indian Army entered Pak territory and carried out surgical strikes. The Indian Air Force carried out air strikes in Pak territory after the Pulwama attack. The central government said the two attacks had killed hundreds of militants.
