As per recent news, the Chinese smartphone maker VIVO is trying to find a way to transfer the sponsorship rights due to the clash between India and China countries due to border issues. Dream11 and Unacademy are the frontrunners for bagging the rights of IPL sponsors from Vivo.
The BCCI have suspended Vivo’s 440 crore per year contract last year with mutual consent with Vivo. Because of the anti-China feeling around the nation after the India-China standoff in the Galwan Valley, where Twenty Military personnel were martyred last year. VIVO believes that it’s wise to discontinue the partnership with IPL with the friction happening between the two nations.
As per the source, there is a rule that helps Vivo to transfer the their sponsorship to another party, if BCCI agrees on this principle. And we also heard that Dream 11 and Unacademy already placed their bids to Vivo for acquiring the rights.
IPL 14 is tentatively planned between 11th April 2021 till 6th June 2021.
We will get to know more on this in the coming days, stay tuned..
